We took the boys to the Real Soccer Game last night. It was just what we needed to unwind from a busy week. Real won, which was a bonus! We also enjoyed a post concert by One Republic (we all love this band). I think they only sang maybe 7 songs, but it was perfect.

I woke up this morning feeling good for the first time in a few days. The last few days have been a bit hectic with getting the boys back to school, getting things rolling with my position in the PTA and trying to catch our house up from all of the days I neglected it during the summer. Four years ago today the boys lost their Grandpa Mike..and I lost my dad.

We miss him everyday.

Also....we had some awesome visitors! Tony's Yia Yia and Papou came for pizza!

We had to break some sad news to the boys...Rex (Tony's moms dog)

had to be put down on Wednesday due to age. The boys were so sad. Isaac wanted to write in his journal about it. We will miss you, Rex!

Ok, so it finally happened. I had zero picture opportunities yesterday. Kind of sad...so, I am going to cheat. I can do that, right? This picture was taken on Sunday.

The boys caught this huge moth in their grandma's backyard. They literally played with it for a good two hours. It had a broken wing, so they were able to move it around without it taking off.

So I meant to start this Tuesday, but I will admit I forgot. Same again yesterday. So here I am now. I have to confess that for the last year I have been REALLY bad at taking pictures of our life and the things in it. I have seen many of my friends do a "pic a day" for a year. I love the idea, but thought I could never pull it off as we have an older camera with absolutely no bells or whistles. I decided Tuesday morning I am going to carry it with me and try to capture our summer through one picture a day that I will post on this blog. I have no formal training in how to capture pictures in the perfect light, or sometimes how to make my camera even focus properly. But..I am going to give it a try. I hope you enjoy our summer as much as we do!

The boys have been taking gymnastics since last August. They just had their last class this week. I think they will miss it. We are SO proud of them.

PTA

Some of you have heard, but for those of you who haven't I have been asked to be the PTA president elect for the boys' school next year (which will make me president the year after next) ...after a lot of thought & talking with Tony I decided to go for it. It will be very time consuming, but a blast at the same time. The women that are in the PTA have been so amazing to volunteer with this past year so I am very excited and honored.

We decided to throw the boys and ourselves a small Valentines Day party a little early (Sunday). The boys picked out some candy, heart shaped plates and a balloon. Add in a heart shaped pizza, a little Wii and it was the perfect night.

The boys have an early out day every Wednesday. They decided they wanted to make brownies to pass some time in the afternoon. They wanted more "boyish" aprons. I guess I should work on that! I love that the boys are getting older, and are capable of doing more things on their own.

Maybe next time the boys will remember to not lick the butter stick, though...

A Camping We Will Go...

We found a super cute little camp ground up at Bear Lake & decided to squeeze in one last little outing before the weather really started getting cold. We kept busy with a trip to North Beach, the Bear Lake Pizza CO., exploring around our campsite, reading books & enjoying campfires. It was the perfect way to end our summer!

Here Comes The...Bride?

Some of you may know that my brother is getting married this weekend! I am so excited for Ashley to become part of our crazy family. We all love her & are so happy for both of them.

The boys came along with me to her bridal shower. At first I was thinking they would be bored out of their mind. Come to find out, there were plenty of kids there & they even got to join in the fun. The boys were chosen to sport the famous toilet paper wedding gowns. All of the little girls broke up into two teams with one adult leader. The boys had to stand there while these little girls created their gowns. They were so embarrassed at first, but by they end they were cracking up with the rest of us. I am glad they were good sports about it!

How do you tire out kids?

We wanted take the kids to the Drive In to see Toy Story 3. We wanted to make sure the boys stayed awake for it, so we came up with a plan.

1. Take the kids to Lagoon the night before and stay till closing.

2. Wake the kids up early the next morning, and make them hike for just over 4 hours.

3. Make them take a nap for a few hours before the drive in.

4. Enjoy the drive in!

Our plan worked! The boys LOVED the movie, and so did we. I was hoping to get pictures of all of the activities listed above, but hiking is all I had our camera for. If you are wondering who is who, just look for the kid who is not smiling in ANY of the pictures. That is Isaac. His poor mouth was full of canker sores.

Trout, Cookies & a Cupcake!

The boys went on a field trip today to a local fish farm! It was the cutest little place & the kids had a total blast. The only downfall was the weather. It rained the entire time..not SPRINKLED but POURED. It was so wet, so cold & it made for a bunch of sad little kids towards the end. We were there for roughly 3 hours. Each kid got to catch a fish, eat & play bingo. Even though all of the kids were frozen by the time they loaded the bus, they still talked about how much fun they had fishing.

This bottom one cracks me up...my kids are really in the picture, I promise. See if you can find them! It took me a minute!

After the field trip the boys got to go back to school and celebrate their birthday a month early. They took cupcakes & cookies for their treat. They had so much fun & it was great to see how good they were at saying "your welcome" and how they wanted to give Mrs. Hepner her treats first. Adorable. I can't believe in one month they will be six!

I have been SLACKING on my training for the half marathon I plan on running in October. So..I started again today. I just ran 3 miles & it kicked my booty! I think I may try to keep track of everything on here. Maybe with me doing so, I know I can't slack because some of you may keep me on my toes!

The plan for this week..run 3 miles 5 times. :)
